Loneliness

What if loneliness is just the awareness of your truest state?

What if loneliness is just the awareness of your truest state?

Consider the inverse: not feeling lonely is ignorance of this true state. We fill the void in our hearts with something or someone or someplace. A constant distraction from life's ultimate truth.

Not a nice thought, I know.

So what if it's true?

If it's true, then we have two choices. Find more distractions or find the meaning behind this truth.

By default, most people see this truth only when a distraction ends. The loss of a loved one. Illness. Job loss. Moving. As I write this, mine is a break-up. It's like waking up from the Matrix. Don't be so eager to find the next distraction. Take pause and consider.

When loneliness is accepted as a truism, it also becomes the meaning of life itself. No, I don't mean to say everyone is a lonely person and you'll die alone. The truth is and always was, you don't need something or someone or someplace to validate yourself.

You are you and that's enough.
